Our Heritage

The latest document to be added is the Reverend David Jenkins' 1936 detailed history of the Parish Church and village of Abergwili.  Its quite a large pdf document, 10MB, so please do be patient whilst it loads.  To download the booklet, click on the picture.

To download the other leaflets in pdf format, which were prepared in Canon Vivian Hughes' incumbency (the 1974 Abergwili leaflet (188KB) and the 1988 Capel Y Groes leaflet (2.5MB) in 1988) please click on the pictures on the right.  The Abergwili leaflet also contains a short historical description of Llanfihangel-uwch-Gwili Church.

St. David's Church houses duplicates of all registers (baptism, marriage and burial) from around 1661 for all three of the churches - all originals are kept at the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth.  If you are trying to trace an ancestor and would like to view particular registers, please apply in writing to the Vicar.  Details of the registers can be seen here.

This page is still very much under construction, but please check back regularly as we will be updating it as the information is made ready for publishing.
